DEANNE FOLEY

Newly formed production company with partners, Deanne Foley and Kerri MacDonald. With over 15 years experience in directing & writing for Film and TV, Broadside Productions currently has two TV projects in development: The Merry Widow - 1/2 hr comedy series and The Junction - one-hour drama series.

 

 

 

DEANNE FOLEY (Director/Writer/Producer) hails from St. John’s, Newfoundland. Her debut feature film, BEAT DOWN, starring Marthe Bernard (Republic of Doyle) & Robb Wells (Trailer Park Boys), garnered three Canadian Comedy Award nominations including Best Direction, Best Actor, and Best Actress. Her sophomore feature, RELATIVE HAPPINESS, a romantic comedy, was nominated for both Best Picture at the 2015 Directors Guild of Canada awards and Whistler Film Festival’s BORSOS Best Canadian Feature award while picking up Best Actress awards at both the 16th L.A. Comedy Festival and Toronto’s Canadian Film Festival in 2015. In 2014, Deanne directed two episodes for CBC’s hit one-hour drama, REPUBLIC OF DOYLE season six, and was selected for the highly regarded TIFF’s Talent Lab. Recently, Deanne has been honored by the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council and named Artist of the Year for 2015. Deanne is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada & Writers Guild of Canada. KERRI MacDONALD (Writer/Producer) grew up in Middle Cove, just outside St. John’s, Newfoundland, and resides in the seaside community today. A writer for the hit CBC series Republic of Doyle for its entire run, she penned many episodes, developed the online personality for the show, wrote and produced the digital series every season, and her web strategy for Republic of Doyle netted her a Canadian New Media Award Nomination in 2010 for Best Use of Social Media. She’s also the author of the ultimate fan guide for the show, The Definitive Guide to Doyle. Published in November 2011 to very positive reviews, the book was released nationwide and was a big hit with fans. Kerri is back in the room for her second season on the Discovery Canada/Netflix period adventure series, Frontier, starring Jason Momoa.
