RHONDA BUCKLEY

Rhonda Buckley is the producer of two feature films in development with Telefilm Canada: Mary Walsh’s Come Home Year and writer Des Walsh’s Bullet For General Hugh Tudor. Come Home Year is also the recipient of Harold Greenberg funding. Rhonda Buckley is currently writing her feature film Limelight, award-winning screenwriter Noel Baker is the script editor. Rhonda was selected to the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and (TIFF) Talent Lab with films she produced by writer/director Sherry White including the Genie nominated feature film Crackie produced with Jennice Ripley.

Rhonda Buckley is an award-winning director/producer of documentary films. Terranova Matadora, a 

documentary on a Newfoundland woman bullfighter Carolyn Hayward, was selected for Hot Docs 2016, screened internationally and was funded by BravoFact Canada. Rhonda is in production on her feature length documentary Avon Ladies… Rural Style for CBC, with interviews of hearty Newfoundland women who became top sellers of Avon makeup in the 60’s. Buckley also has a documentary in development, Freedom 95, which asks the oldest generation in human history a hard fraught question: Will you be eating cat food or caviar out of cans when you retire? Rhonda’s additional documentaries include: Vocation (CBC, 2014), The Real Matriarch (CBC, 2009), and James Andersen; 50 Years of Taking Pictures (CBC, APTN, 2008). Memorial University of Newfoundland has commissioned Buckley to produce work in Labrador on Inuit Heritage. Labrador Roadshow has been purchased for the Department of Education and is apart of the provincial school curriculum.
