Mike Hickey

Pulp & Paper Productions is a St. John's, Newfoundland based multimedia production company specializing in film & video production as well as graphic design, with a specific focus on content within the horror genre. The company takes its name as a nod to founder Mike Hickey’s hometown of Grand Falls-Windsor while also referencing the pulp horror comics that helped cultivate his love of the genre. While aiming to create narrative genre-focused content, Pulp & Paper also works with an array of commercial clients providing full service multimedia solutions. The company has a partnership with Eli Roth’s Crypt TV to produce Fright Hype, a weekly horror news webseries hosted by Hickey.

 

 

 

Born and raised in Grand Falls-Windsor, award winning filmmaker Mike Hickey quickly developed a love for movies, and in particular, scary movies. Eventually he found his way to St. John’s and began pursuing filmmaking full time. Mike has worked various production and post-production roles on projects such as Cast No Shadow, Majumder Manor, and numerous others. He has also completed several short films including Our House, The Master & The Mistress, The Date, The Calming, & He Sees You… He is currently in development on a number of projects for different mediums. Mike studied marketing at College of the North Atlantic and served two terms as president of the CNA Student Association. He is currently Chair of the Nickel Independent Film Festival and hosts the weekly entertainment news series Fright Hype for Eli Roth’s Crypt TV.
