ALLAN HAWCO

Established in 2009, Take The Shot Productions Inc. is a television and film production company whose work has garnered critical and commercial success domestically and around the world. TTS produces a variety of both scripted and unscripted projects for television. Productions include the Discovery Canada/Netflix Original Series Frontier starring Game of Thrones’ Jason Momoa, the Gemini-nominated series Republic of Doyle, the hit factual series Majumder Manor, Boy on Bridge featuring Great Big Sea frontman Alan Doyle, and HBO Canada’s Shaun Majumder, Every Word is Absolutely True. In October 2015, TTS and Co-Proucer eOne, announced a new 6-Part series for CBC entitled Caught, based on the novel by the same title.

 

 

 

Allan Hawco is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada. Most recognized from his lead role as ‘Jake Doyle’ on the CBC hit TV series, “Republic of Doyle”, Allan also serves as the Co-Creator, Showrunner, Executive Producer, and Head Writer for the Gemini-nominated series.

 

His major accolades include The National Theatre School’s Gascon Thomas Award, Outstanding Achievement Award from the Canadian Television Hall of Fame, Gemini Nomination for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series (“Republic of Doyle”), and ACTRA Nomination for Best Male Actor (“Love & Savagery”).

 

Allan's feature film and television credits include a starring role in “Love & Savagery” (2009), directed by John Smith, and supporting lead in Sir Richard Attenborough’s “Closing the Ring” (2007) with Christopher Plummer and Shirley MacLaine. He will play Douglas Brown, a Scottish fur trader in the highly anticipated television series “Frontier” (2016) a joint project from Discovery Canada & Netflix.

 

In 2005, Allan co-founded “The Company Theatre” and garnered rave reviews as the star in its inaugural production of Tom Murphy’s Whistle in the Dark. Allan’s latest endeavor will be producing and playing the lead role in his TV adaptation of Lisa Moore’s “Caught” for CBC.
